Roger Wheeler Beach Family Portrait

This summer family portrait was unique (and a first!) due to the fact that it was a double family session! Two families who have been friends for many years, and have vacationed together here in Rhode Island for many years as well, decided to share in some family portrait goodness too! I photographed the Carbone Family last year at Roger Wheeler State Beach and we agreed to continue that tradition this year. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this location has the absolute best sunset in the state! It’s always my first go-to suggestion whenever anyone wants a beachy family portrait! The sunset potential here is on point, so if it’s a beautiful day, chances are the sky will be spectacular when the sun goes down. This evening was no exception! Both the Carbones and the Denzas were lovely families and a pleasure to photograph! We had a little bit of tears, a lot of laughter, some playground distraction, and possibly the promise of ice cream once the session was over? Is it just me, or is ice cream just enticing enough for the little ones to behave for a short yet crucial period of time? I really think it is! Ha! Again, I loved shooting with these families, and hope we keep the tradition going!
