Rhode Island Senior Portrait Session
Brooke’s senior portrait is a bit unique. It’s kind of a two part portrait session. She is on the swim team at school so she wanted that part of her high school career showcased in her photos. I have to say, I love the idea of highlighting something that you do or enjoy, and incorporating that into your senior photos. It injects some personality and individuality in your session, and you still have the ability to maintain a classic senior portrait vibe as well. It’s pretty much the best of both worlds! In any case, part one of Brooke’s senior session took place at the YMCA in Barrington where we used the pool as a backdrop for her photos. It takes a confident girl to have her photos taken with a swim cap and goggles on, am I right?? And I’m pretty sure Brooke rocked it! The second part of our session took place on a separate day in Providence where we explored areas with cool architechtural details like the State House and the Superior Court House. And ohhhhhh followed by my new favorite discovery – the 10,000 Suns park where there is a sea of sunflowers set upon the backdrop of the Providence city skyline! I might be late to the game because I don’t venture beyond my editing screen very often – haha, but OMG!, what a crazy gorgeous location positioned right in the heart of the city. And may I say, it makes for a really purty portrait location :) Brooke’s family, whom I have known for years, also got in on the photo action. [I shot their family portrait a few years ago when her older sister was a senior too.] Best of luck to Brooke in her last year as a high schooler (and even more luck to her parents as they realize that their little girls are all grown up now)!
