I have been documenting my niece through the years since she was born, and I think my sister is definitely on to something. How wonderful is it to have this kind of record to watch your children grow? At some point, as parents, we think that our kids aren’t changing all that much, but I’m willing to bet we would be wrong if we had yearly photos of our kids placed side by side — then you can actually see the difference and how much they truly do change! It’s so true — time does fly. Take it from a mom who has two middle schoolers all of a sudden! How did that happen??? But I digress. My point is, there is no better way to savor (or remember!) these days than to have these images of our kids and be reminded of their personalities during these times. Take Elena, for example. She is so smart, has a better sense of direction than I do, is assertive as heck (but not bossy..wink, wink), has a sense of humor that rivals some adults I know, and is totally enamored by her “sister cousins.” (She dubbed them this, and I think it’s the cutest thing ever. Which is partially why they may make a guest appearance in this post.) So keep on booking those family and children’s portrait sessions, people. Before you know it, they will be off to college!
