Charming Connecticut Engagement Session
I met with Gail and Matt on a slightly chilly fall day in Stonington, Connecticut. Surprisingly, we did not encounter too much colorful fall foliage (as we hoped), but I’m pretty sure we didn’t need the extra influence of brightly colored leaves and trees since these two are so cute, sweet and engaging on their own. They wanted their engagement session to feel quaint and charming, with a touch of historic influence — you know, very New England. The Stonington area definitely checked all those boxes, from the neighborhoods lined with colonials and cottages to the seawalls along the waterfront — we explored it all. Gail and Matt were up for anything, catering to my every whim, indulging in all my location choices, all the while laughing and being adorable the whole shoot! One might think that’s can be exhausting, but they pretty much rocked it! And I can’t help but be completely excited to photograph this delightful couple again at their wedding next summer at the Saltwater Farm Vineyard! Woo hoo!
Side note: we had a really good laugh when a random lady tried to give me pointers as I was shooting the two of them by the water. She even offered to take a photo of Gail and Matt instead! We politely declined, but I can’t help but think that it’s strange that it never registered with her that I was doing my job! The two giant cameras I was carrying was not quite a big enough hint! It was definitely one of the strangest, more perplexing encounters I’ve had during a portrait session. [Btw, Gail and Matt were pretty happy with what I shot, so no need to worry ;) ]
