Among some of the most picturesque places for photos is a seaside town loved by many Rhode Islanders. You guessed it! This Newport RI family portrait took place at one of the town’s (sort of) hidden gems. So it’s not really hidden, but I think sometimes it’s overlooked due to its simplicity and size. It’s no grand mansion with a sprawling lawn, but it does have sensational views that include loads of boats on the water and, of course, Newport’s iconic bridge.
After a bit of back and forth about weather conditions, Cori and her family met me at King Park last summer for their session. Dodging rain and other weather nonsense was a common thread throughout many of my shoots last summer! But we prevailed and got some lovely traditional group photos, photos with individual families, as well as some other more free, “let the kids be kids” photos! It’s always nice to have a good mix of classic portraits and more relaxed and genuine images. The latter usually DOES happen when kids are involved!
It was a pleasure photographing Cori and her family, and I must thank the DeFelice family for the introduction!
