Jess and Chris’s early September wedding was a day to remember! Their Newbury Boston wedding began on a somewhat concerning note when they learned that their pup was sick and needed to go to the vet right away. (Spoiler alert: he is ok!!!) You can imagine how emotionally taxing this could be on what can generally be a stressful day already. They both persevered during prep while keeping close tabs on Rigatoni. (Side note: how awesome is his name??)

But that is not the only obstacle they would encounter, my friends. Hospitality workers were on strike in Boston, and well, they were not quiet about it! There’s nothing like a little repetitive chanting and banging on home depot buckets to provide some excitement on your wedding day! There may have also been a snafu with their transportation. In Boston. On a Saturday. In September. Right near the Public Garden. You get my drift. Despite all of that, Jess and Chris had an amazing wedding day!

The ceremony was held at Boston’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross, and following that we ventured to the Boston Public Gardens for family and wedding party formals. The Public Gardens is a beautiful location for photos, albeit quite busy and swarming with people! Hey – it was a warm Saturday in September! You’ve got to expect some tourists and park goers! Once we finished up in the Garden, we headed for the hotel which is conveniently located across the street. The good new is, is that the picketers were taking a break, or perhaps had moved on to another local hotel, but we were in the clear for that moment!

The Newbury Boston Hotel features classic architectural details with contemporary design, and is a sophisticated city venue in an iconic and historic location. In the reception ballroom, white floral centerpieces by Nature’s Design Flowers were soft, simple and elegant, complimenting the modern aesthetic of the space. Jess and Chris made sure that their beloved dog, Rigatoni had a starring role at the wedding too! From the signature drinks sign to the adorable cake topper, he was very well represented! Some major highlights of the night were the funny and moving toasts, special songs and dances, and a killer dance floor with really cool light up props!
