Here we are again at one of my favorite (and previously mentioned!) spots for Ethan’s late summer senior session at Sandy Point. I have to give this place credit — it’s the number one location chosen by my seniors and their parents, even after I suggest alternatives and share galleries from other beautiful spots.
And honestly? I get it. The golden hour here is reason enough. If glowing, radiant light is the look you’re going for, Sandy Point absolutely delivers. Since Ethan wanted his session by the water, this felt like the perfect fit. Although, if I’m being completely honest… I tend to think it’s always the perfect fit. 😉
We made the most of all the variety the beach has to offer — shoreline views, textured rocks to sit on, and sunlight filtering through the wispy grasses. At one point, Ethan and his dad even paused for a quick sea creature scouting mission. I fully support moments like that. Even high school seniors deserve space to just be themselves during their session. The last thing we want is anyone feeling stiff or bored when the camera is focused on them the whole time. So yes, by all means — take a break, pick up a crab, explore a little. I’m all for it. Those unscripted moments often turn into the most authentic images.
Ethan’s parents jumped in for a few photos as well, and I will never pass up an opportunity to encourage that. If there’s even a small chance to update your family photos — even casually, even spur-of-the-moment — take it. Consider this my annual PSA: book the portrait session. I promise you won’t regret it.
Okay, rant over. But also… seriously. Do it. 😉 Sandy Point continues to be a beautiful backdrop for senior portraits, especially during the golden light of late summer.
