Graduation season is such a special time of year, and photographing a graduation portrait at URI is a great way to kick it off. Beyond the obvious excitement and significance for the students themselves, there is something incredibly rewarding about meeting these talented young people at such an important milestone in their lives. Being trusted to commemorate years of hard work, sacrifice, and achievement through a portrait session is truly an honor.
This season of graduate portrait sessions began with the lovely Caroline and Imma, both University of Rhode Island students in the College of Pharmacy. And not just any program — a six-year program — which makes their accomplishment all the more impressive. These ladies have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time, energy, and perseverance to their studies, and it was such a joy to celebrate that with them.
We spent the evening exploring campus on a chillier-than-usual spring night — classic New England behavior. (Meanwhile, as I’m writing this post, it’s somehow 86 degrees in May. Make it make sense.) We made our way through all of the iconic spots: the library, the blossoming tree lined pathway (which wasn’t quite blossoming yet 😕), the College of Pharmacy building, and finally Green Hall, where popping champagne to celebrate has become something of a graduation tradition.
Caroline and Imma were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and photographing them was an absolute pleasure. I have no doubt they both have incredibly bright futures ahead in the pharmacy field, and I’m so excited for everything that’s next for them.
Congratulations again, Caroline and Imma!

Although graduation season is beginning to wind down, it is never too early to start planning ahead. If you are graduating later this year — or even next season — and are interested in booking a portrait session, I would love to connect and help create something meaningful, personal, and fun to celebrate your accomplishment.
