Kira and John’s love story is definitely not your ordinary boy meets girl tale. They were online aquaintances to start, both belonging to a mutual online forum group, and thus became friends. After years of online friendship, they finally met when Kira attended a wedding nearby John’s hometown, and after that, it was, as the saying goes, “love at first sight.” Living in separate countries complicated their relationship, Kira in England, John in the U.S., but the “long distance love affair” (ooh, that sounds so cinematic, doesn’t it? either that, or it sounds like an 80s hair band power ballad title) prompted John’s proposal to Kira once he realized he did not want to be without her. Awwwww.
“Absence diminishes mediocre passions and increases great ones, as the wind extinguishes candles and fans fires.” Francois de La Rochefoucauld
Their New York City wedding was as unconventional and personal as their love story, inspired by their common interests and encouraged by their unique and devoted group of family and friends.
And of course, a shout out to the always awesome Janet of Janet Moscarello Photography for killin’ it as my second shooter, and a special shout out to my sister/makeup artist Michelle for making the ladies look fabulous!
Wishing Kira and John many years of happiness and health, love and laughter, and superheroes and comic books!
