As a photographer working in the southern New England wedding scene for over fifteen years, it’s pretty rare that I find myself at a venue for the very first time. (It does happen occasionally—but chances are, I’ve been there!) In this case, though, Tyler and Joseph’s Morning Star Horse Farm wedding truly broke new ground. Not only was it my first time photographing a wedding at this venue, it was the first wedding ever held there. History in the making, friends!
If you look back a few posts, Tyler and Joseph’s engagement session began with Joseph emerging from the ocean after an afternoon of surfing. With that in mind, I had a feeling their wedding day would be just as personal and unexpected—especially knowing their celebration at Morning Star Farm would be the venue’s inaugural wedding. Tyler lives and works on the farm, and her horse is housed there, so having their wedding take place in such a meaningful and beloved setting made the day even more special.
Their wedding featured an abundance of thoughtful DIY reception details, a beautiful outdoor ceremony beneath the trees, a classic forest green MG TC sports car, and of course—majestic horses. (Side note: anyone who knows me knows I know nothing about cars, vintage or otherwise, and I absolutely had to look this one up. Thank you, Google Lens!) Guests embraced a casual elegance that perfectly matched the rustic farm setting, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. While there were traditional elements sprinkled throughout the day, what stood out most was how clearly Tyler and Joseph wanted their friends and family to simply enjoy themselves and celebrate right alongside them.
Photographing Tyler and Joseph’s wedding was truly a joy. As a couple, they share a quiet, genuine affection—something that isn’t loud or showy, but deeply felt and beautifully evident in the way they move through the world together.
Weddings like Tyler and Joseph’s are a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are rooted in personal connection and place. Choosing a setting that holds real significance, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the moment, and letting the day unfold naturally creates space for memories that feel authentic and lasting. Their Morning Star Horse Farm wedding was thoughtful, joyful, and refreshingly untraditional — the kind of day that feels just as good to photograph as it does to experience.
